Composition:
Each 9g syringe contains:
Cloxacillin benzathine …………………………….. 1 g
Description:
Cloxacillin benzathine, an antistaphylococcal penicillin, is primarily used for penicillin-G resistant
organisms (e.g, beta-lactamase producing Staphylococcus spp.).
Indications:
For use in cows at drying off, to treat existing mastitis infections and to provide protection against
further infections during the dry period.
Contraindications:
Do not use in lactating cows. Not intended for use within 49 days of calving. Do not use in animals
with known hypersensitivity to the any of the ingredients.
Dosage and administration:
For single intramammary administration.
Disinfect the teats after the last milking at the start of the dry period and administer content of one
injector per quarter. Treat all quarters.
Precautions and warnings:
Do not handle the product if you are known to be hypersensitive to penicillins.
Avoid skin contact, wear gloves and wash hands after use. Rinse skin with water and soap in case
of direct contact with product. If hypersensitivity reactions occur after use of this product, seek
medical advice. Swelling of the face, lips or eyes or difficulty with breathing are serious symptoms
and require urgent medical attention.
Withdrawal times:
Meat and offal: 28 days
Milk for human consumption may only be taken from 96 hours (that is, at the 8th milking in cows
milked twice daily) after calving.
Storage conditions:
Store below 25°C. Do not freeze.
